This Week's Featured Artist:

MAX WOOLAVER
“Songs of brilliance and beauty...a Leonard Cohen meets Dylan saga of a whistle stop on Desolation Row.”  ~ Fredericton Gleaner

Reverend Max Woolaver is one of the most compelling Canadian singer/songwriters working in Canada today. Even Canada's treasured songwriter Bob Snider chimed in after a show “last night I caved in...I’m a fan..”

Max's songs are moving, picturesque and written deep with meaning and intent.
Any evening with Max Woolaver takes the listener across the psychic terrain of our current times through the medium of powerfully crafted and lyrically charged songs - from ripping bluegrass and poignant ballads to dark rocking songs. Audiences respond enthusiastically to his biting humour, great stage presence and obvious, reckless joy in performance. His warm character and deep energy conjured up and communicated by the remarkable poetic quality and naked sincerity of the songs make any evening with the Max Woolaver Band an encounter with a true, insightful, and significant Canadian talent.
Max has been featured on all major roots radio stations in Toronto, CBC Radio,Toronto, Ottawa, as well as over 25 appearances on CTV’s Toronto affiliate and he was noted as Pick of the Writer’s Nights at the Bluebird Cafe in Nashville Tennessee.

Born in the Maritimes, he began his career in England, and after a stint in the Maritimes, he now makes Toronto his home. His downtown Toronto grassroots parish, St. George The Martyr, is home to The Music Gallery, one of Toronto’s most notable concert venues.
